1. Introduction
Welcome to the MT Online Assessment Platform. This system is used by the HR department to conduct online recruitment tests for Management Trainee (MT) and related technical positions. This guide explains, in plain language, exactly what to expect and how to complete your test successfully from start to finish.
You will be sent a unique test link by HR. That link determines which test category you are being evaluated on. The available categories are:
- IQ Test (Puzzle) — logical reasoning and pattern‑based questions, often with images.
- MT Electrical — technical knowledge test for Electrical discipline.
- MT Electronics — technical knowledge test for Electronics discipline.
- MT Mechanical — technical knowledge test for Mechanical discipline.
- MT Chemical — technical knowledge test for Chemical discipline.
IMPORTANT: Only use the exact link sent to you by HR. Links from other sources, or guessed/shared links, will not correspond to your intended test category and may show an “Invalid Test Link” error.
2. Before You Begin
2.1 Device & Browser Requirements
- A laptop or desktop computer is strongly recommended (the test can be attempted on mobile, but the layout is optimized for larger screens).
- A modern, up‑to‑date web browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox.
- A working webcam and camera permissions enabled in your browser — this is mandatory. You cannot start the test without camera access.
- A stable, uninterrupted internet connection.
2.2 Have These Details Ready
- Your full name and father's name (exactly as per your CNIC).
- Your CNIC number (format: 12345-1234567-1).
- A valid email address and active mobile number.
- A password of your choice (minimum 8 characters) — you will create this during registration and use it if you log in again for a second test.
2.3 Environment
- Sit in a well‑lit, quiet room where your face is clearly visible to the camera.
- Close unrelated browser tabs, applications, and notifications before you begin — switching away from the test tab is tracked (see Section 6).
- Set aside a fully uninterrupted 20‑minute block of time.
IMPORTANT: Once your test timer starts, it cannot be paused. Make sure you are fully ready before you click the final “Capture & Start Test” button.
3. Getting Started — Opening Your Test Link
HR will send you a unique web link (URL) for your assigned test category, for example a link ending in “?cat=MT Electrical”. Open this link in your browser to see the Instructions page.
3.1 The Instructions Page
This page explains the rules before you proceed. Please read it carefully. It confirms which test module you are about to attempt, and lists the following key rules:
- Strict Time Limit: You have exactly 20 minutes once the test begins.
- Strict Anti‑Cheating Policy: Tab switching, minimizing the browser, or opening other applications is monitored.
- Test Termination: After a 3rd tab‑switch violation, your test is automatically ended and marked as failed.
- Submission: Once you submit, you cannot change your answers.
At the bottom of this page you have two options:
- “I Understand, Proceed to Registration” — choose this if this is your first time taking any test on this platform.
- “Already registered? Log In here” — choose this if you have already registered previously (for example, you already completed the IQ test and are now returning to take a technical test).
3.2 Invalid Link Error
If you open the platform without a valid category link (for example, by visiting the base address directly), you will see an “Invalid Test Link” message. If this happens, contact HR and request the correct link again — do not try to guess or modify the URL yourself.
4. Step 1: Candidate Registration
If this is your first test on the platform, click “Proceed to Registration”. You will see the Candidate Registration form. Fill in the following fields accurately — this information is used for your official HR record:

Click “Register & Start Test” once all fields are complete. You will then be taken directly to the Identity Verification (webcam) step.
Common Registration Errors
- “This CNIC or Email Address is already registered” — this means you (or someone using your details) has already created an account. Go back and use the “Login” link instead.
- Make sure every required field is filled in; the form will not submit if any mandatory field is left blank.
5. Logging In for a Repeat / Additional Test
If you already registered previously (for example, HR has now sent you a link for a different test category), use the “Login” link instead of registering again.
On the Login page, enter your CNIC number and the password you created during your original registration, then click “Login & Start Next Test”.
IMPORTANT: You can only take each test category once. If you try to log in and start a category you have already completed, you will see: “You have already completed the [Category] test. You cannot take it again.”
If your CNIC or password is incorrect, you will see an “Invalid CNIC or Password” message — double‑check your details and try again. If you have genuinely forgotten your password, contact HR for assistance, as there is no self‑service password reset.
6. Identity Verification (Photo Capture)
Before your test begins, the system requires a live photograph for identity verification and proctoring purposes. This is a mandatory step for both new registrations and returning logins.
- Your browser will ask for permission to access your camera. Click “Allow”.
- Once your camera feed appears in the circular frame, position your face clearly in the center.
- Click the green “📸 Capture & Start Test” button.
- Your photo is saved, and your 20‑minute test timer begins immediately at this moment.
NOTE: The camera does not just take one photo — it also stays active as a small live‑monitoring feed in the corner of the screen throughout your test (see Section 8.3).
If the Camera Doesn't Work
- You will see: “Camera access denied or device not found. You must allow camera access to start the test.”
- Check that your browser has camera permission enabled for this website (usually a camera icon in the address bar).
- Make sure no other application (Zoom, Teams, another browser tab) is currently using your webcam.
- Try refreshing the page and allowing camera access again, or switch to a different, updated browser.
- You cannot proceed to the test without a successful photo capture.
7. Step 3: Taking the Test
Once your photo is captured, you are taken directly into the test. The exam screen has three main areas: the Timer Bar at the top, the Question Panel in the center, and a floating Live Monitoring Camera in the bottom‑right corner.
7.1 The Timer Bar
- Shows your assigned Category and a live countdown timer, e.g. “⏳ Time Left: 18:42”.
- The timer turns yellow with a warning toast when 5 minutes remain.
- The timer turns red and pulses when only 1 minute remains.
- When the timer reaches zero, your test is automatically submitted with whatever answers you have selected so far — you do not need to click anything.
7.2 Answering Questions
Questions are shown one at a time. Each question displays:
- The question number, e.g. “Question 4 of 60”.
- The question text, and an image if the question involves a diagram or puzzle.
- A set of multiple‑choice options (A, B, C, D, and sometimes more).
To answer, simply click your chosen option — it will highlight in blue. Use the navigation buttons at the bottom of each question:
- “⬅ Previous” — go back to review or change an earlier answer within the same session.
- “Next Question ➡” — move forward to the next question.
- “Submit Final Test ✅” — appears only on the last question.
IMPORTANT: You are free to move back and forth between questions and change your selected answers as many times as you like before you press the final Submit button. Once you submit the entire test, none of your answers can be changed.
7.3 Live Exam Monitoring
A small circular camera preview labeled “Live Exam Monitoring” remains visible in the bottom‑right corner of the screen for the entire duration of the test. This is part of the platform’s proctoring system and confirms that your session is being recorded for integrity purposes. There is no action required from you here — simply remain visible to the camera.
7.4 Right‑Click and Developer Tools
For test security, right‑click and common keyboard shortcuts used to open browser Developer Tools are disabled while the test screen is open. This is a normal part of how the platform protects question content.
8. Anti‑Cheating Policy — What You Must Not Do
The platform actively monitors your browser tab focus throughout the test. Please follow these rules strictly:
- Do not switch to another browser tab or application.
- Do not minimize the browser window.
- Do not open a second window over the test.
If you move away from the test tab even briefly, the system logs a “strike” against you and shows a warning:

WARNING: There is no way to undo a termination caused by tab‑switching violations. Please remain on the test screen for the entire 20 minutes and avoid any distractions, including phone calls, chat notifications, or other browser tabs.
Additionally, do not refresh or close the browser tab during the test — this may cause you to lose your progress and can trigger the same “leaving the page” warning dialog.
9. Step 4: Submitting Your Test
When you reach the last question, the “Next Question” button is replaced with “Submit Final Test ✅”. Clicking it brings up a confirmation dialog:
“Are you sure you want to submit your test? You cannot change your answers after this.”
Click OK to confirm. Your responses are securely saved and automatically evaluated by the system. You will then see a confirmation screen:
CONFIRMATION MESSAGE: “Test Submitted Successfully — Your responses have been recorded and securely auto‑evaluated. You may now close this window. If you have been assigned another test, please click the new link provided by HR and Login to continue.”
If the timer reaches zero before you press Submit, the same process happens automatically — your answers so far are saved and evaluated without any action needed from you.
10. How Your Test Is Scored
Your responses are automatically evaluated the moment you submit. For transparency, here is how scoring works behind the scenes:

If you were assigned both an IQ test and a Technical test as part of your overall evaluation, you must pass both individually to receive an overall “Pass” result. If you only took one of the two, that single result determines your outcome.
NOTE: Results, scores, and HR’s hiring recommendation are not shown to you on‑screen. They are reviewed and communicated by the HR department through their own process. Do not contact IT/technical support asking for your score — please follow up with HR directly.
11. Quick Rules Summary (Do's and Don'ts)

- • Review your answers using Previous/Next before the final submit.

- • Don't switch tabs, minimize the browser, or open other apps.
- • Don't refresh or close the browser during the test.
- • Don't try to reopen a test you have already completed for that category.
- • Don't share your password or let someone else take the test on your behalf.
- • Don't expect to change an answer after the final submission.
12. Frequently Asked Questions & Troubleshooting
Q: I got “Invalid Test Link.” What do I do? Contact HR and ask them to resend your specific test category link. Do not try random links.
Q: My camera won't turn on. Check your browser's site permissions and make sure no other app is using the camera. Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge recommended) if the issue persists.
Q: The page says I already completed this test. Each test category can only be attempted once per candidate account. If you believe this is an error, contact HR — this cannot be reset from your side.
Q: My internet disconnected during the test. The 20‑minute timer is tracked based on when you started, so reconnecting and reloading the test page will show you the correct remaining time and your unanswered questions. However, a stable connection is strongly recommended to avoid losing time.
Q: I accidentally switched tabs by mistake — will one slip fail me? A single accidental tab switch results in a warning only, not disqualification. Disqualification only occurs after a 3rd violation. However, treat every warning seriously and avoid it entirely.
Q: Can I retake a test if I fail? Retake policies are determined by HR, not by the platform itself. The system technically prevents a repeat attempt of the same category, so please contact HR if a retake has been approved for you.
Q: Will I see my score immediately? No. Scores are auto‑calculated in the background but are only visible to HR/Admin through the internal dashboard. HR will communicate results as part of their recruitment process.
Q: What happens if I close the browser by mistake before submitting? Your progress may be lost, and reopening your original link will require you to log in again with your CNIC and password to resume the same test category (if not yet completed).

If you experience a technical issue that this guide does not resolve, please contact the HR team that shared your test link with you, referencing your full name, CNIC, and the test category you were attempting.
